Hello! I'm Simone Scolari, I'm a 26 years old Italian Male.

I was born in Verbania (North-West of Italy) in date 17 / 2 / 1993.

STATUS UPDATE ( 06 - 08 - 2019)

I've just successfully completed the Programming Course at Digital Bros Game Academy!

Now I can finally consider myselft a junior game developer in Unity / C#.

It has been a wonderful year spent developing games in team. The project

of my team won the "MOST FUNNY GAME" award.

WHO I AM

First of all, I'm a SCI-FI fan. I worship every good science fictional TV serie and movie and most of

all, I like the starships. Star Trek, The Expanse, Star Wars, Stargate (a lot of "star" stuff). I love to hand draw starships, shuttles, starfighters and space stations on my notebook.

I'm a GAMER as well, of course, but a very selective one.

I don't like to buy and try every new upcoming AAA title. I like to play games with original content or original mechanichs like Portal , Crypt of the Necrodancer or Undertale and I love to study them.

Generally I enjoy strategy and RPG online games but I also love to spend hours building good looking stuff in Minecraft-like games like Space Engineers or Trove. I don't lack the patience to build and decorate with precision in the user generated content games.

SCHOOL BACKGROUND

Music in the middle school. I had good sense of rythm but the transverse flute was not actually my thing. I studied Electronics at the Highschool whishing to become an engineer but then I realized that that wasn't my real passion either. That was the period in which I discovered the world of videogame industry. After I graduated from high school, I decided to dedicate myself to what until then had always been my true passion: creating video games.

VIDEOGAME SCHOLASTIC EXPERIENCE

In 2012 I began a private academy called "NABA" where I studied "media design and multimedia arts". Among the various courses there was also "game design" held by professor Francesco Alinovi.

With him, I created my first videogams and, at the end of the 3 years, I presented my final thesis:

"Riflessioni sui Videogiochi Etici" - translated: Thoughts on Ethical Video Games.

A thesis about how echical videogames and gamification can be used to help people: from their everyday routine to their relation with the society and themselves and the big themes like education , war , respect of the others, or sustainable behaviours.

Though the university game me some of the tools to understand the world of media communication,

I still lacked the specific knowledge of the videogame industry and all the techniques to create my own videogame from scratch. The idea of a videogame is not enough for me!

I found the Digital Bros Game Academy, a brand new school dedicated entirely to the game development.

From september 2016 to august 2017 I studied GAME DESIGN with professor Simone Magni, developing games with a team students using Unity 3D. I really enjoyed my time at the school regardless of the fact that I had to travel for more than 5 hours a day to get to school and go back home!

Two years later I came back and this time I went for the GAME PROGRAMMER course held by Alberto Barbati. I ejnoyed to create games even more now that I know how to code! After almost 2 years of game development and more than 10 developed games on my back, I can now put in practice everything I've learned.                                          Get ready game Industry... I'm coming!

Evviva! Messaggio ricevuto.
